Creating Spaces for Growth and Prosperity

Every year there are hundreds of schools closing in our neighborhoods. As part of our anti-gentrification model, we aim to re-open and repurpose those facilities to provide communal spaces to serve our members. The Soft Landing is meant designed to be a spring board and has three primary models.

First is a safe house. The safe house model provides emergency shelter for members. The proposed layout for the building pictured below would have multiple housing units on the upper floors and an education and training facility on the first floor. The second model of the Soft Landing is designed for young adults who are insecure in their living arrangements. Those who are accepted into the Soft Landing are provided housing, food and clothing assistance and are given priority status should they opt into our apprentice program. he third model is designed as a compound primarily used to house and train members who are tasked with rebuilding our neighborhood. These facilities are open to members who provide services for our commune and those who are on the front line of MNOA outreach.
